Bad Night, Good Night

Bad Night

Ugh.  Had a bad night.  I couldn't fall asleep till after midnight and then I ended up having apocalyptic dreams ALL. NIGHT. LONG.  My dreams, well really nightmares consisted of an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack happening here, in Arizona.  In the middle of summer.  Now for those of you who have no clue what an EMP is (I didn't until I read a book called One Second After), an EMP is what happens when a nuclear bomb is detonated up in the atmosphere.  It causes an electromagnetic pulse to occur which then fries all electronics and makes them completely void and useless.  If an EMP were to occur, all of our appliances, phones, computers, cars, fans, anything that uses electricity would be fried. Even our faucets wouldn't work, because the pumps that are used to send water through the pipes would be worthless pieces of metal.

A series that also has an EMP attack in it.

So imagine if you will what that would mean if an EMP occurred here in the middle of summer. NO. AIR. CONDITIONING. Talk about my worst nightmare.  So, in my dream last night an EMP had occurred.  We had no air conditioning, no cars, no water, and our food was slowly rotting away.  Our closest family lives 30 miles away, through Phoenix, and we have three kids that we have to worry about.  We're trying to figure out how to make it through Phoenix alive (could you even imagine how awful that city would be if an attack like this took place?  Ugh, freaks me out just to think about it.) and then I woke up.

My heart was pounding.  Beads of sweat were making there way down my chest.  I woke up 45 minutes before my alarm went off. I put on my glasses and frantically searched the room for signs of an EMP.  The ceiling fan and alarm clock were still on.  I breathed a sigh of relief and then I thought, "We've got to get out of here.  We need to find a house, with land, next to a river."  Technically, we live by a river.  It's actually a very, very dry river bed and I shake my head every time we drive by the sign that says "Agua Fria River".  Really?  Don't you think it should read "Wannabe Agua Fria River" or "Where the Agua Fria River used to exist". Anyhow, needless to say, after going to sleep so late and having such a restless night, I'm a teensy bit tired.  But, I still have a busy day ahead of me so after I took the Beast to his 18 month appointment (almost 3 months late).  I went and got myself a nice big fountain DP.  After all, I still have pick-ups, homework, soccer practice, dinner, showers, and season premiere's that I need to stay awake for.

Good Night x 7

Speaking of premieres, here is my list of shows that I'm interested in this season.  Yes, I have a lot.  Yes, I like some trash TV.  No, I do not consider Glee trash TV, no matter what Dave thinks.  Yes, I love TV and am SO glad that the new season is starting.  Yes, some of them are at the same time.  No, I do not have a DVR but hey, that's what the Internet is for!
