The kids requested eggs for breakfast. So I put a few drops of dye in them, and then scrambled them up. Then I thought it would be fun to turn their milk green and if I can turn their milk and eggs green, then why not the butter! Cy and the Princess were so excited. Cy was shocked that the eggs tasted just like they normally do. While the Beast was taking his morning nap the kids watched The Secret of Kells (it was the only Irish themed movie on Netflix). When the Beast woke up we headed off to the Super Target to buy "green stuff".
Unfortunately, there weren't many green things to be found. Apparently, Target doesn't view St. Patrick's Day as a holiday worthy of stocking their shelves for. We found a green candle on clearance, and a Care Bear book about Good Luck Bear, the one with a shamrock on his belly. We also picked up more food coloring, a pair of green shorts for Cy, Phineas and Ferb t-shirt's (on clearance! I. LOVE. CLEARANCE.), mint chocolate chip ice cream (Dreyer's. Yum!), potatoes, carrots, and corned beef brisket.
| It's blurry, I know, but this kid won't sit still for nothing! |

Of course, once we got home a photo shoot was in order since everyone was dressed in their green finery. Lunch consisted of green Easy Mac and green Apple Juice after which another nap for the Beast was in order as well as some quiet time for Princess and Cy. I had been telling the kids that sometimes leprechauns will come visit your house on St. Patrick's Day if your house is clean. So, they helped me clean up and then they went into my room to watch a movie and wait for the leprechaun to come.

Boy oh boy, did that leprechaun come! He made a mess out of the living room and the kid's bedroom. He turned the toilet water green, and he left "Gold" (Rolos) hidden all over the house for the kids to find.
After the kids had found all the gold they went back to movie watching and I finished up the St. Patrick Day cupcakes that I had started earlier in the day. They were pretty yummy despite using a box mix and store bought frosting.

We invited some friends over for cupcakes and to help us celebrate!
This stuff is liquid gold on St. Patrick's Day. Seriously, I used this stuff so much today that my fingers are dyed green. I think this bottle cost me 3 dollars. WORTH. EVERY. PENNY.
Just another random picture of the Beast because as I looked through the collage's I realized that he wasn't well represented. He was sleeping while most of the activities were taking place.

| How do you like those large protruding eye's of mine? Dave said that was his leprechaun face. LOL! |
We finished off the day with a classic (well my version of a classic) Irish dinner. We had corned beef brisket with carrots and onions, salad, and mashed potatoes dyed green. We had Dreyer's Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream for dessert. My friend who came over to enjoy the cupcakes said, "Amy, you are like super mom today." You know what, she was right. I was super mom. It was worth it too. To see the look of excitement on the kid's faces. Cy said, "This is better than Christmas!" Now, that's saying something! So, please excuse me while I spend today vegging on the couch while my kids eat day old popcorn and whatever else they can forage to feed themselves. Because today, I'm not super mom. I'm just back to regular old me, and I'm tired!
