| Princess on a happier day |
"I don't want you to tell me to put my shoes and socks on!"
Seriously? You're throwing a fit because of that?
In my best mother voice, I told her sternly that that was no reason to throw a fit and that she needed to go and do what I said. So off she went, whimpering all the way. I, in my naivete, thought we were done. Oh how wrong I was.
Minutes passed and Princess didn't come back to get her hair done. Dave asked where she was (he takes her to school every morning) I said I didn't know, so he went looking. He found her sitting on the floor in the corner of her room crying her eyes out, BUT she had her shoes on. He told her to come see me, and I brushed her hair as she screamed and cried at me. I asked her if she wanted a headband or a ponytail. She said a headband. So, I told her that her blue headband was on the couch and told her to go get it.
Once again, Princess dropped to the floor in an all out tantrum, because she wanted the headband but she didn't want to go get it. 15 minutes late, Dave and Princess left for school and all I could do is hope that she would make it through the next 3 1/2 hours without throwing a fit.
When I went to pick her up she seemed much happier and in a better mood. So I breathed a sigh of relief thinking that the worst was behind us. Wrong again!
After we dropped off Cy we came home and while the Beast was taking a nap, I was letting her watch movies on the computer. Well I needed to do some research on the computer so I told her that she could watch movies in my room. Once again, she dropped to the floor....that was it! I was done!
I picked up my tantrum throwing Princess, took off her shoes, and put her in my bed. I told her that she couldn't come out until it was time to pick up Cy. She screamed and screamed until her voice went hoarse. I heard my door open as she tried to sneak out. "NOPE! YOU GET YOUR BUTT BACK IN THAT BED AND SHUT THE DOOR BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO LISTEN TO YOU SCREAM!" So she did, screaming all the way and then there was silence. I opened the door and peeked my head in and sure enough, there she was, fast asleep. Looking very peaceful and oh so innocent. Ya right!
Sigh. Why do they have to make it so hard sometimes?
I guess that's the way the Lord is challenging us. Kaylee has days like that and I wish is was easier.
ReplyDeleteIsaac's having one of those days right now. I feel your pain. :)
ReplyDeleteFor some reason her fits are the worst! I think it's because she is so stubborn so they last forever. Never give up, never surrender!
