I had to add those last two dinners because they were HUGE hits with my family! The Honey Baked Chicken was a new recipe and we all loved it! The Quinoa with Black Beans has been a favorite of Dave's and mine for a while but I always thought it had a too grown-up taste for the kids. However, recently I've decided that I'm DONE making two meals every night. One for the kids, one for us, it was getting really old so now I make ONE meal. The kids can eat it if they want, if they don't then they can skip dinner and wait for breakfast. So last night I made our favorite Quinoa dish for the whole family and lo and behold, they LOVED it! I was shocked and thrilled, but mostly shocked! Even the Beast ate it! So, if you have any questions or want some recipes let me know. I am planning on making the Quinoa with Black Beans again and taking pictures so I can post the yumminess on this blog. Maybe, Jamielyn will even let me share the recipe with her fans on I heart Naptime.
*All recipes in bold are new and I will let you know how they are if you're interested.

ReplyDeleteDo you shop for the month as well? I want the black bean and quinoa recipe. And do you actually stick to that menu? I use to plan out for 2 weeks and just went to once a week.
ReplyDeleteAuds, I shop once a week on Thursday's and get any of the ingredients that I might be missing for the recipes that I am doing that following week. I tend to stick to the menu pretty well. Sometimes I'll switch around the recipes to different days but I still tend to keep it in the same week so that I always have the necessary ingredients on hand. Also I try to take inventory at the end of every month to see what I have on hand and use those ingredients to plan out next month's menu so I'm not buying a whole bunch of stuff every week. Helps me stay in budget. Stay tuned for the black beans and quinoa recipe. I'm guest posting about it on April 12th at my friends blog, iheartnaptime.blogspot.com so I will post the recipe then! It is seriously sooo yummy.
